Hi From NewZealand

Post by EVLOPL »

Hi,
I'm a Design Engineer based in Auckland New Zealand. I have always driven Opels and my current stable is no exception.
I have a 1991 Calibra 16v daily driver, a 1990 Vectra A 2000 for parts and a 1994 Vectra A GT 16v WIP / track day machine. All of course running the C20XE.

Welcome to our forum :wave

I've been to Auckland on holiday once, fantastic place, stayed near Mission Bay, if you know that area?

Enjoy your stay here. Vectra's look tidy, as does the Calibra.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

One thing I can't get over: I've been looking through the build and picture threads. It's breaking my heart to see how badly the UK salted roads and freezing winters affect the poor Cav's. I've had mine 6 years here in NewZealand and theres not a single spot of rust anywhere on, under or in it and thats the way I like it!

Just saying that I really feel for you guys, I'd be beside myself if I just cleaned and polished my car to find massive rust bubbles coming through the arches! :cry

Welcome along! My brother lives in Wellington and my Sister in Hastings, so we have a strong NZ connection. Looking forwards to seeing more progress reports.

Welcome to the forum - :wave

I don't have any relatives in New Zealand... so you are quite safe - ha ha

Yup - rust is a problem for any uk car - especially anything over 10 years old... and Cavvies are anywhere between 17 and 24 years old.

Maybe the build quality for New Zealand's Opel cars is much better regarding corrosion / perforation protection.

Hello good evening and welcome. 8-)

If you haven't done so already then get some pics up in The Showroom or Work In Progress section, whichever applies.

Enjoy your stay at cavmk3oc.com! :wave
