Florida American Cruise

Post by Cav.turbo »

I'm over in the states at the moment and just up the road from where I'm staying is a car cruise every friday night. It's held at a place called Old Town which is on the 192 interstate. The weather had a 20% chance of rain so it cut numbers I was told from 200 down to around 50, but here's a few pics I took. Something different and not everyone's cup of tea.

At 9pm each Friday night they cruise down the Main Street at 5mph blipping the throttle to show off there v8 then all park up a bit more to chat about how much muscle each engine produces. This happens every Friday night of the year. Although when its 80 degrees at 9pm at night who don't want to be outside with a beer in their hand.

I absolutely love the classic Mustangs. The old Camaro looks stunning as well.. Don't mind the new ones as such, but it's gotta be classic for me!

Kissimmee Old Town? Went there a couple of times in 97/98, great turnout of cars. And that huge swing thing you can see from there is nuts.

Personally, I think it's hard to beat the sound of a V8.

Most fantastic sound of a V engine has to be the Merlin. To hear a Lancaster flying by with 4 of them.... takes things to a new level.

All these crappy new audis and mercs with their so-called V8's. they sound shit. Too muffled and too modern. No, it's gotta be from the 50's through to the 70's for me.....

Pretty rare to see a lancaster flying let alone hear 4 merlins on the go.

The crappy audis and mercs dont have so called V8's. they ARE v8's which may be muffled and modern, because we live in modern times.

I do like the 92 mustang though.

Nope they still sound crap mate. Who cares about modern times, a V8 shouldn't be muffled at all. That's just all eco bollocks. Give me a 69 Fastback any day. Don't like the 90's mustangs, although I do like the 1999-2002 models.

At the last air show down here, the Lanc was flying about and one time it did get quite close.

Been to this a few times got similar pics somewhere, usually a better turn out on a Saturday night though, think there is a bike night on Thursedays as well.
