Cav Compliments

Post by Telegram Sam »

I propose that there should be a board league table on which we can record the no of unsolicited appreciative comments that members have individually received from other motorists with respect to their Cavs. I find that petrol stations are for some strange reason a particularly favourable fishing ground for these but Newcastle United football ground vs Borussia Mönchengladbach today was another.

No cheating of course, contributors are on their honour.

The Mk3 does generate a lot of response from fellow road users. "Better than the Vectra that succeeded them," is an expression that I hear a lot!

I used to get more complements in the LS before I had it re-sprayed funnily enough.
It looks much better now yet no-one has said a word about it in years.

Last complement I got was in the CD auto last year.

I think unless it's a sporty model like the SRi or turbo no one notices it.

I've had endless 'I used to have a Cavalier!' from various people.
The other week an older chap said, 'nice to see one still running, proper workhorse mine was'

I just can't see the same thing happening with Mondeos & Sierras & co. Wonder why. At this rate my car might just start appreciating in £££ value also!

I wouldn't be so sure about that. There's a lot of love out there for Sierras, and rightly so.

Considering mine is kinda modified now it gets loads of interest, about 3 weeks ago I was invited to a American car show day near me with a friends audio group and had loads of people who just wanted to chat about Cavaliers inc one guy who is rebuilding an Sri currently...........Get a few bizarre ones though like the junkie looking bloke one day when I walked out of the pub wandering around it who then went on about all the Cavs he had in his day, more likely he stole most of them!
Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....
