I'm still here
I just wanted to apologise for my recent quietness on the forum.
I just want everyone to know I'm still here, I haven't lost interest and I'm not disappearing.
There are many reasons for my lack of posts lately; going from part-time to full-time, finding the love of my life and the winter slowing down progress on my cars.
Truth be told though I've been really put off by the whole photobucket fiasco.
I've actually got allot done on my cars recently but I'm completely put off from posting up about any progress by the thought of my photos disappearing.
I actually had a premium account with photobucket before they decided to change their price structure. I paid about £35 a year for extra storage as I had gone over my free allowance. This meant that when the change over happened all my photos stayed up. However this grace period is about to end and at the end of this month all the photos I've uploaded since I went over my free allowance will not only disappear but actually be permanently deleted.
It's an extremely disheartening thought that the money I spent on premium storage has gone to waste and I just don't have the time to trawl through thousands of photos, re-upload them and edit all my posts. I genuinely feel like I'm being held to ransom.
But hey, I'm an adult, I'm sure I'll cope.
Anyway, I'm still here and I'm very much looking forward to the new show season this year. Once I get going I've got tons of stuff I'd like to write up on this forum, I'm not going anywhere!

Re: I'm still here
It's generally quiet on here anyway, I think everyone is aware of that so they don't know what to post. Not like the good old days of 50+ posts per day.

Welcome back boss..
Winter is always quiet post wise.
It is too cold, too wet, too windy or too much effort to work on the cars.
Looking forward to seeing your recent efforts and future exploits.

Hola!
Re: I'm still here
Regarding the excess photos -
From what I understand, it is only the excess photos that will be deleted.?
Perhaps you could create a second fotobucket account and transfer the "to be deleted" pictures to there.
At least it will not be all of the pictures that you will need to create new web links for.

Re: I'm still here
The best solution for posting pictures is own webspace instead of such imageshack/photobucket crap. Reliable own webspace with about 50 GB costs approx. 5 €/month (in Germany).

The love of your life!? Another V6?!
Postimage still not working for me, most frustrating, it is so simple and used to work so well.

Re: I'm still here
Thanks everyone. Just need to get my arse into gear really.
She's of the two legged variety and very possibly the most wonderful person I've ever met. (no detriment intended to any of you whom I have met)
Yeah, that's right. But that's allot of photos. In fact it's probably about 70% of them now.Robsey wrote:Regarding the excess photos -

Nope, still here. I never really left. I've still been logging on every day and doing my admin duties, just not been posting very much.iangsi wrote:I thought you had emigrated & taken your 5 cav’s & tech1 with you !

Re: I'm still here
I would be a little surprised if your significant other was not "more wonderful" than any of us on here.
70% eh... that is a lot of images.
I assume though that most of your images are not linked to any of the forums.
So thankfully not too many broken links.
Tobias' idea sounds a good one, to save you losing anything that you would like to look back on in the future.
