well my sat nav records max speed distance and average speed
just checked it and over 166 miles i averaged 63mph with a top speed of 91 i got carried away in the flow of the trafic.
im just happy mine gets to 70 my pore little chevette wont do 60 without braking down.
Its a little silly going fast but i do think the max speen limit could be increased a little my car stopes shaking 75

why would brag about doing over 100mph on what is open forum, police will read these forums and insurance companies
I have lost alot of friends trying to prove top speed in there cars ,then get splated or caused then death some poor sod

I'm more about acceleration than top speed my self.
Ok In Top Grear Drag racers they do drag races over about 3/4 of mile etc. and the car that gets away first is often left behind at the end. But on a curvey track Top speed means nothing.
The reason I swaped a 2 litre with long ratio gears to a 3 litre with lighted fly wheel and close ratio was for Acceleration. I was told by people dont do lighted fly wheel and close ratio because you'll loose your tp end.
I dont exactly drive at 130-150mph so as Along as a car can overtake safely and can cruise at high speed with little stress on the engine I'm happy.
I wont say what the fastest I've ever drove in any car is. I know of some one that redlined a v6 in 5th (F28)and blew the engine up at 135MHP on an empty motorway at midnight.
I'd much rather have a car with a top speed of 130 than one with a top speed of 90. Simple fact being you can drive at 70 in the fater car putting less stress on the car.
any one that has driven at 70mph in a 1.2 8v corsa will know what i mean. You feel as if you could die at anytime. Where as the cavalier 2 litre 16v at 70mph felt like you where hardly moving.
But on the other hand a small car wizzing round town can be fun to drive. You dont break the law at it still feels like your in a racer. Try the same thing in a better car and you'll be well over the limit when your having fun.

the fastest i went was in cavalier was 1 my mate build 3lt v6 omega engine in it with turbo clutch and 6 speed box out calibra
and it went off the clocks at 160 was on prive road of course
was a hatch gls with gsi kit , supriesd a few folk in it as it lookt ruff as a bagers ass 
now a days i am happy going along at 70 in zafira
