How Rare are Mk3's
Can someone tell me, how rare are Mk3's getting now.
Now that I have a Mk3, I find myself looking for other Mk3's on the road. However, in the last 2 weeks I have not seen ANY other Mk3's in my area.
I know its only been 15 years or so since they were last made, but I am surprised I am not seeing alot more than I am !
Is it just that Wycombe is basically a Cavalier Mk3 free zone and there are still loads left in the Uk, or are they really getting quite rare ?
They are without doubt, future classics, judging by how much of a classic the Mk1 Cavalier is, but surely there must still be loads left in the Uk and I am just unlucky not to see any in High Wycombe ???

visit some places where the residents don't nearly all have company cars or high than average incomes, there are still plenty about!
"No the temperature gauge doesn't work........
we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

Re: How Rare are Mk3's
There's a few new ones popping up around this area, and still the same few locals about on their travels. Even a BTCC replica. Most common ones around here I'd say are facelift hatchbacks. LS/GLS are usually the most common trim models I've seen.

Re: How Rare are Mk3's
I see 10 on a semi regular basis, 2 of those are mine.

Re: How Rare are Mk3's
I see 8 or 9 on a regular basis and none of them are real sheds either. There is also a mint late spec SRi with Albany trim local to me that I drool over whenever I see it- it is ABSOLUTELY mint! As said before most are LS GLS hatches with the odd special edition as well. Would say that pre-facelift are a lot less common tho.
Re: How Rare are Mk3's
What year did the facelift happen ?

Re: How Rare are Mk3's
there is one round here that is the same colour and year as mine. Also seen a maroon one driven by an old boy, and a lovely royal blue one that I see when I drop my nipper off at school. All of them look to be in good nick and wearing well for their age.

Seen a fair few round the Poole / Bournemouth area since I bought mine but dont think I have ever seen Andrei's yet even though he lives just round the corner from me...lol
Used to be a lot of Sri's around but seem a bit thin on the ground now...
Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....

Re: How Rare are Mk3's
they are out there... they made one and a half million of them (think about that for a minute) and that's just the vauxhall badged cavaliers. stands to reason there are plenty left (and plenty of parts too). if you're looking for a base model for a project to 'upgrade' then you really can take your pick of the bunch. it's finding original hi spec versions that have remained 'factory' that's the challenge.
Re: How Rare are Mk3's

White cav turbo getting rebuildt by a couple of my mates
Gsi in my old home town which I have to find who owns it.
There is couple of hatch backs ,one an sri 16v and gl with lexus

There is an old lad with 1.8 gl saloon in small town called hopeman

Re: How Rare are Mk3's
Ive seen only 2-3 recently and most are driven by old guffers , condition wise , average , some rust on arches and general flat looking paint , but still going strong most are povety spec ones (no that im being rude , all cavs are cool)
