Good point... maybe a Register should be started? I am guessing there are still quite a few.... but I see more Mrk 3 Astras round our way. Did they fair better in the longevity stakes?

I am starting to think I own the only Mk3 Cav in High Wycombe as I dont see any ever, except my one of course !

I'm guessing at least 3000 probably more, considering how many ads there are regarding salvage and spares/repairs because the owners couldn't be bothered looking after the gorgeous things

theres only 1 i see in eastboune apart from mine.a mint 1400 ls owned by an old boy.tried buying it but he wont sell it.every mk3 astra ive had has rotted away in no time.be nice to know how many of each model and year and the highest mileage

dvla will give you figures, i have the performance cavalier figures here somewhere i.e. turbos, gsi's left on the road etc, but for general stats dvla will tell you.

yeah there was a total vx issue with all the figures in it (only the performance ones mind)

Cavalier Mk3 DVLA records (taken from last summer) show these figures for the performance Cavalier range. These figures do not include any other model other than those stated. So, how endangered is your Cavalier?!

I did a little test of my own yesterday.

This might mean I am a sad git for doing this, but along with two mates, who also both had nowt to do yesterday, we decided to sit in three different cafes in the Wycombe area all that have good sight of the road.

Then, over a fried breakfast and a mug of coffee, we spent an hour seeing how many of the following cars we actually noticed go past !

( told you I was sad, but hey, the breakfast was lovely and I was bored anyway ! LOL )

Anyway, after the count up we all met back up with the results.....

it could be that half of them are SORNd which would bring the number down by about fifty percent and inline with what you quote which would be on the road, but fifty percent does seem steep.

Went into two motor factors in Banbury today after a price for rear wheel bearings on the V6, one of them said about "blast from the past" the other lot started reminiscing about "when I had a cav".Made me feel quite chuffed they are held in such high regard.
