It's the laws of physics I'm afraid. Make any vehicle lighter, be it car, train, motorcycle or even plane, and it will be able to corner better.

How are you supposed to corner a plane? :lol:

I know where you're coming from though, but in terms of traction under acceleration I still prefer to have some weight over the driving wheels. Not just about corners at the end of the day :thumb

No matter what it is or where it is it follows the same principle. It could be a spaceship and the same laws would apply.

True, extra weight would give more traction in a straight line. However, the added weight would most likely counter any gain in acceleration from the extra traction


However, there are some benefits that added weight might give which I do understand the appeal of.

Heavier cars, tend to be safer, at least to the occupant and they would be more stable in straight lines; on the motorway for example.

The same law that dictates that a heavier car won't corner as well also dictates that it would be less prone to buffeting in wind ect.
