Anyone else hooked on energy drinks?

An odd thread i know but i am totally addicted to them, i HAVE to have one at least once a day and its gettin worse. My girlfriend is doing the "Stoptober" thing for her Fags and so i'm going to do it too but with the drinks.

Anyone else drink them?

Drinking coffee is now a necessity rather than choice and I have even resorted to drinking a Red Bull every other day. They're sooOOOoo bad for you, especially when you consider that the active ingredient, 'taurine', is derived from cow bile. Mmn tasty.

It's either that or fall asleep though. Caffeine + Red Bull means I should be able to take on the world mwahahahaha!

Tried some 'cheaper' alternatives. Tesco/Co-Op Red Bull rip offs, or that Monster Energy crap. Ugh. At least Red Bull tastes quite nice. A bit like sherbert.

Yeah i don't like monster or the crappy cheapo ones. Gotta be redbull, relentless or rockstar!

As for it actually giving you more energy, after trying pretty much all of them i can honestly say NONE of them give you more, infact they make you feel worse and tired afterwards.

I wish i liked tea or coffee but i don't lol.

See, I love tea, I used to plough through a good 15 cups a day. Then I started getting heart palpitations and had to see the doc who eliminated all the usual stuff, "do you smoke? no? do you drink? no? hmmmn... coffee? no. hard drugs? no. you sure? tea?" aha! cut down to about four cups and they stopped.

Substituted tea with coffee. which has to be worse but still not ramming that many away. Gotta have a vice though!

I'm on Asdas own brand blue charge!!! Use to be the mixed fruit but they changed the flavor!!!! So now its the original flavor for me!!! All I ever drink!!! Proper gives me the shits though... Lol

Stopped drinking it when I stopped working night shifts in London, but Red Bull was a regular drink along with a codeine pill. Occasionally I would resort to lucozade.

I used to be hooked on them, 4 a day most days.
Anyway, i HAD to stop. Travelling down a local A road with my best friend in the passenger seat, he wrenched the wheel causing the car to swerve violently. I could also hear the engine on the limiter.
I had passed out from caffine overdose while driving, run up the verge, clipped a hedge at which point my friend yanked the car out of gear and back towards the road. I have no memory of anything except giving him the biggest mouthfull for yanking the wheel. We went back so he could prove i was on the verge. The tyre tracks told the story.
I owe my life to him. A few feet left of the tyre marks were pine trees 3 foot thick.
Turns out im quite sensitive to caffine!

Lucozade orange, I can drink it by the lorry load, at one point I was buying 2-3 litre bottles a day. Had to stop as I was only getting 4 hours sleep a night if I was lucky.

Still have it every now any again but only buy the small bottles to stop me drinking it too much

I started to drink it when I was working nights, then i was drink some during the day then it just became a habbit...

It's a great drink when it's drunk very cold, I like it too. Better than carlsberg any day.

Used to drink 2-3 energy drinks a day but started to rely on them to get me though the day and felt like crap so stopped drinking them and just drink water now have so much more energy and feel a lot better. Crap when I first Stopped drinking them but I guess its the same as coming off and kind of drug.

I used to be on 20 red bulls a day,had been since I was 19/20,now 34 until I got a nice man in an ambulance take me to a&e with blue lights as they thought I was having some form of heart attack,heart rate was 234bpm when they got to me and I was sweating very heavily and couldn't sit,eyes were moving like a 15yr old in a brothel,since cut down to 4/5 a day,found it hard to get this low do far

Cant stand them - far too sweet. Same with coke and all the rest of them fizzies.

This is what I love.



If you'd tasted the tap water here in Watford you'd understand why I won't touch it.
