Leather Seats

Post by HAIRIBO »

I dont know what to do????

Either get that little pad on the driver side redone. (No idea of cost)

Get a SRi interior and have it retrimed in dark red (At least £1000)

Or have the centre sections of mine changed for the cream out of the calibra trim I have. Also making the rears into kinda bucket seats.

What are your opions. (I'd love a red trim with all the bits done. but You cant spend all that money on a cavalier right? I dont mind spending that on the engine as I'm never going to sell the car. But is a £1k bill worth having a different colour leather? The same price As a respray.

I wouldn't mind the cream insert idea, and have the door cards done to match. The cost should be down for that as I already have the centres in the right shape, so it would just be a case of un switching the centres from one and swapping, Its not as if they have to buy leather then cut to shape ad stitch up.

I just want something different compared to the Dark grey. As everyone withy leateher in a cav has the dark grey. Apart from Sparzy. And I liked his calibra cream. And the Calibra SE7 was Magic grey with cream leather. So the cream dose suit the car. but I just dont know.

And hence............................. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fix it... love your car, regardless of cost. but also on that note if your never selling then a retrim isn't a waste either

True but Think I'd rather save that kinda money to put towards a Mk1 mini cooper. Dont mind spending £500 on the interior, but £1000+ is just a bit too steep for this tite Bast*rd. Cant believe I've spend over £1k on the engine rebuild

get your leather re-done dave, would really suit the car. as for spending that amount of money on your Cav, , i would if i had the money
If your keeping the car even more so. I dont care that people say "your wasting your money on an old cav that you wont get back if you sell it"
so What it's my car and i'll do what i want, besides we all want to see what it looks like when its finished :P :P

And you can always transfer it to the next should the worst ever happen.

Just to throw a cat amongst the feathered ones... a twisted thought...

Go and sit in various different cars.. find an interior you are VERY comfortable in and see how easily the interior can be made to fit the cavalier, do the nessacary work, then have them retrimmed and fitted.

As your car isn't exactly standard anymore anyhow, I feel this may work better for you?

I'm no good with a welder, So I'd have to pay someone to make the front seats fit. So I might have to stick to the standard Turbos seats

I've seen what you've done to your woman's Alloy!!!!!! ;)

Ha ha, But On a serious note. The reason I like cav seats it cos the plastic trim around tha bottom makes tham fit nicely. I dont want a seat to end up looking at if its just been stuck in, I has to look factory fitted, even if its not.!

then you want to retrim the existing seats... liking the mini cooper idea, but why?

I took the cream seats apart and realised they a smoke and dirt ingrained, nothing like the origanl cream, plus a little rip in the centre, SO I no longer going to use them to cover the centres of my cavs.

I'd love a red retrim , but think I'll just get the passagner side redone to make it perfect and maybe get the door cards done to match.

Just wanted something different thats all. But £1k is a bit too steep

you're looking for the next mod on a nearly perfect (in my not so humble opinion) cav saloon... just enjoy it fella, sort the small seat issue and drive her :D

If you really want to do more give me a hand sorting exhaust manifolds and down pipes :D

Ha ha, thanks matey.

Well I think fo now, I'll do this

1.Get the knocking at the front sorted out.

2. find out which sensor is turning the engine light on and replace.

3 fit a better air filter and cold air feed

4. Remap ECU after another 350miles

5 get seat fixed

6, fit an external oil cooler in front bumper

7. sort a few little wiring issues in the interior.

8. LSD the gear box.

9. refurb alloys

10. maybe fit the GTE and or monty scoop to the bonnet to aid engine cooling.

Then I might finally be happy.

oh forgot about sorting a rear valance out as well lol.
