#1 reason not to sell your car

Post by humbucker »

Because other people can't be trusted to look after it.

A couple of weeks before I sold my Astra. I'm sure you'll agree, it was exceptionally tidy:

A month later and it looked like this:

I jest of course, and thankfully the fella wasn't hurt in the accident, but what a shame! Mrs Humbucker wasn't entirely impressed but hey ho once you've sold a car it's entirely the decision of the new owner what they decide to do with it

Complete write off btw, chassis bent, everything up front rammed back into the bulkhead!

Yeah, that's what I thought, and I was considering buying it back as it sold on eBay for around £300 which is crazy. The interior was mint, tyres pretty new etc, but by the time I would have forked out on fuel and trailer hire to get it back, or even on one of those Shiply jobbies, it would have been pretty cost inefficient because of the distances involved (couldn't have been further away from where I live). Hopefully someone will make good use of it all. Was a good car and apparently the engine remains unscathed.

That's a bit gut wrenching. For the period of about a week i had considered packing up everything cavalier related and buying this astra. Shame its in a bad way now.

hate selling cars you loved and cherished from fear of exactly that happening :(

i sold my my 1.8ls cav to afriend who ran a garage but he started using it as a courtesy car
hated seeing the car on average twice a week with normaly the worst of society driving badly and abusing it

but what can you do onces its not yours, not seen it since its last MOT expired so expext its no more

didnt quite make 20years

That was a clean cavalier I saw that in the flesh.
I really did like it.
Wanted the wheels off it.
