Unless you have size 5 or less feet then dont bother buying the 106 as you wont be able to drive it anyway!

Off a cliff the cavalier is heavier? I had the misfortune to have to drive a Fiat x19 once, virtually impossible with any sort of feet at all!

106 - cheap run about.

106 gti - chav bucket

Cavalier - everyday practical car for everyone. Enough said.

There not a practical everyday run about for every one andrei.

If a 106 is a run about, and a 106 gti is a chav bucket, whats a cav gsi?

Cavalier Gsi - everyday practical saloon, with some grunt to it for the B roads... A sensibly sporty saloon. 106 gti - small chav bucket with a bigger engine and a crappy spoiler just for chavs. Small cars should have small engines, big cars should have big engines, end of.

I'm sure you'll find the Cavaliers are a practical everyday car, as that's exactly what they were designed to be. Am I wrong?

How does that equate? Using that theory, which of the engines that the Cavalier was produced with is the 'right' one? The same could be asked about dozens of other models that are built with a range of engine sizes? You have some strange ideas Andrei. If it were the wrong thing to do then nobody would buy them!

Just looking back at the original question, use a little logic.....If you know the power output is roughly the same but one car is significantly lighter than the other then you don't have to be an expert to figure it out.

I don't understand why a gsi is a Chavez car as you put it , yes it has an image problem at the moment , didn't the cav have that same image a few years ago ? The gti is a very capable hot hatch

I asked this because...with the Cav bein a 2.0 16v and the Pug being 1.6 16v...I thought maybe pug will have it low end , acceleration but then mid-top end get trowched by the Cav...but I was wrong.

The Sri 16v xe cav is quicker than the gsi as its somewhat lighter.
But going back to the original question who really cares which cars quicker or not. Both are good fun cars to drive.
As for pedals nothing is worse than a seicento.
I don't consider my cav to be practical at all, but maybe yours are Andrei.
I consider sticking shipping lists to sides of cars chavvy, and I'm sure you used to have this on ur cav

To be honest as much as I dislike newer Peugeots I had a 205 Gti 1.9 with work done, it was a brilliant car and some may have thought it was chavvy but now they are a collectors item and worth far more than most Cavs ever will be.

Chavvy or not - who cares

I like quick cars...Simples....

Considering selling the Cav very soon and buying a mk4 Astra Turbo or Gsi spec, don't care what people may say about them but I want one soon..
Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....

Theres absolutely nothing chavvy about a mk4 astra gsi, great cars.

I know EVERYONE thinks my impreza is a complete chav car but i don't and i also couldnt care less if anyone does, awesome cars that drive well and are quick, what more do you want.

As for cavs being chavvy, i really don't think any model cav is at all. Allot of chavs now a days are driving brand new kia's/fiestas/corsa D's because they are cheap to get on finance/lease or there mums got it on motability but they are driving it.
