Thunderbolts and lightning...

...very very frightening etc. Well, to the cat anyway. From 2am through to about an hour ago, the most incredible thunderstorm and fork lightning. It was relentless, haven't slept all night, ground shaking, hammering down outside. Gonna be hitting the coffee hard today methinks.

Anyone else have mental weather all night? Pretty sure it wasn't restricted to East Anglia.

I'm just north of Southampton, 4 tasty rumbles of thunder last evening, no rain, nowt else. although it is cooler now and was last night and a tad more humid.
waiting for some rain though.

Had some thunder on Sunday night up until the early hours, was pretty cool, managed to get a few video clips on the camera. None last night, although they are promising some for the South today and tomorrow.

All that heatwave we've been having has paid off. I love storm chasing.

We've had about 4 rumbles of thunder, three last night, and one today. Had some rain, but only lasted a few minutes, and didn't clear the air at all. Still like walking into a wall of heat whenever you go outside

I was driving down the m6 early this morning and hit the rain thunder and lightening, then i hit the center of the storm. Intense wasn't the word i couldn't see more than 100m ahead in reality no more than 10ft infront was driving using the lines in the road that i could just make out and the truck infront rear lights.
Id just been passed by a lad from the same depot, i def aquaplaned a couple of times. Was a hell of a rush once id got through the worst of it.

Had it all friday night. was wokring outside in it loading lorries on a folklift. shat my pants a few times.
