Well the car went for a mot and failed on welding , broken front springs and a bulb. I knew about the first 2 things before hand. It also got an advisory for rusted and pitted discs. I have a set of back discs in my stock but need a pair of front disc. (Do you have any I can have cheap?) They are to thin to skim.
Don't fancy taking it over the Stelvio pass in North Italy on poor breaks.

My thoughts exactly - the MV6 is supposed to be ferrying me across Stelvio Pass in August, encouraging me to invest in Brembo six-pots!

If there is one thing I learnt from my years of banger rallying - it you are doing the passes, invest in good brakes pads and discs as standard fade real quick!

The cav passed it's mot. :D Had 2 weld it in 3 places, fitted a set of lowering springs, replaced a blow bulb and new discs with pads all round.
So it will be heading off round Europe in October.

I got hold of my cousin at local vauxhall dealer. But he can't help as they chucked out there tech1. Bummer

Well the cavalier made it round Europe (just). It went across france going through center of Paris at 5pm on a Friday. That was something else. In to Belgium then Luxembourg. Back in to France then on to Switzerland and over the alps in to Italy. Rally finished at salo on Lake garda. On way home we went back through Switzerland, Austria, Germany and in to Czech Republic. Once in prauge noticed the back wheel starting to lean in. Axel rusted and twisting. Left prauge with fingers crossed. Headed across Germany to near nurburgring. Then up to Netherlands and ferry port. By this time wheel just missing the inner arch. Got off ferry in Newcastle and headed up A1 got to 10 miles south of Berwick upon tweed and wheel started to rub. All over but took 1500 miles ish to start rubbing. I sat in a lay by for 5 hours to get picked up. Got the cav home and it's been welded. So back on the road. Now saved from the scrap yard twice in 6 months. Some pics for you.
