I don't have circulation figures at my disposal (certainly not on that level anyway). That's something that our editor would be aware of as he ponders over which car to place on the cover of a particular issue. That said, sometimes the deciding factor can be 'how many advertisers have products bolted onto the car in question'. If their merch is featured prominently, then they're more likely to take out ad space, and that's where the bulk of mag revenue comes from (as opposed to sales).

I would like to think so as there is a lot of love for the MK3 Cavalier :)

Seeing as the topic veered off slightly...

I have never bought a single copy of Performance Vauxhall or Total Vauxhall Magazines, as I always felt that it / they catered more for people who "chavved up" their cars looking for speed rather than much else...
- Sorry Dan.
Judging a book by it's cover I suppose.

For twenty years (1985 to approx 2004) I used to buy Car Mechanics magazine.
I binned well over 400 magazines, a year or so ago to clear out clutter.
I kept about 5 magazines that featured Mk2 and Mk3 Cavaliers... but not the Calibra.
Good old fashioned repairs and servicing features.

Recent buys have been Practical Classics
because I like the older cars with character. And I like proper hands-on information... not endless reems of waffle.
(No inference on any specific magazine).

and I buy the occasional Camper and Bus or Camper and Commercial magazines, looking for ideas, tricks and tips, or useful information for my 1983 VW T3 / T25 camper van project.
Although popularity for the T3 / T25 is still a little featured niche area.

And before you ask... nope I haven't got far with the van in four years...

Strangely - Campers are one of the few areas where a Van is called a car...
A standard van is a van... but not a vee dubberya

You said it! You only have to look at last month's issue to see that the mag focuses on quality retomods: a Cosworth YB-powered Ascona 400 replica, a Mk3 Cavalier SRi powered by a Saab B204R engine and gearbox, a Mk4 Astravan powered by a 400bhp Z20LEH etc. A car simply won't make it into the mag unless it is well built with a range of well-executed mods e.g. suspension, brakes, exterior, engine, interior etc.

For example, next month's issue stars a Retropower-built Ascona 400 rep packing a supercharged XE (and we know how exhaustive Callum's projects are!), an 800bhp drag Tigra, a 440bhp Mk4 Astra Coupe etc. These are all brilliantly built cars, nothing 'chav' about them.

Oh, and expect to see an ex-BTCC Cavalier and two Turbo 4x4s making an appearance in the issue after that ;)
