Re: WINDSCREEN RAIN SENSOR & (AUTOMATIC ANTI-DAZZLE) ACCESSO
Usually I have a rain sensor in my Cavalier when I used to drive it. It's called raindrops on the windscreen, and to clear them I simply push up the wiper stalk one position.

Nothing like having dealer fit accessories that no one else or very few people have.

Re: WINDSCREEN RAIN SENSOR & (AUTOMATIC ANTI-DAZZLE) ACCESSO
After looking up the part numbers I doubt if these were ever actually fitted to a Cavalier.
They may be listed as Vectra A parts but that doesn't mean that you could fit them and have working automatic windscreen wipers and anti dazzle mirror without significant modifications.
You need a windscreen that is compatible with a rain sensor first and to my knowledge no such windscreen exists for the Cavalier.
I have a feeling that these have been incorrectly listed and are in fact Omega parts.

"REAR VIEW MIRROR (AUTOMATIC ANTI-DAZZLE) Part number: 90397274. Cost £135"
That's a wide angle mirror, a cost option fit for Carltons. Get an Omega anti-glare mirror and wire that in instead.
As for auto rain sensor stuff, 93170232 is the sensor for the Omega / Vectra, and works alongside the rain-sensor edition windscreen (and the rest of the gubbins).

I have two Vectra-C auto-wipe and auto-lights / chromatic mirror kits.
One full CAN for the wife's Vectra-C.
One half CAN for the Cavalier.
The tricky bit is the mirror mounting.
The Omega and Vectra-B & C mirror mounts are different to the Cavalier / Vectra-A.
I have the whole loom, rain sensor, mirror, mount, plastic casings the lot for the wife's car. It is even quite easy to program in, with my Vauxcom interface.
Just got to get it done, along with 4 or 5 other jobs.

I have the vauxhall kit for the auto wipers on a cavalier. It's brand new never fitted and still in its original box. No idea if it's the same part number .unless I go digging in the garage.

Will be interesting to see if it is the same part number. Also what comes with the 'kit'

I was on about my SRi, I only use it on nice days for a drive out in the countryside.. My expression gets used in all weathers day&night. Its not abused thought, It gets very well looked after. Only genuine parts see any of my cars no matter the cost.James McGrath wrote:The rain I understand, but why not at night?Super89 wrote:I'm not getting them. I never use mine at night or in the rain..

Re: WINDSCREEN RAIN SENSOR & (AUTOMATIC ANTI-DAZZLE) ACCESSO
I'd be interested in a bit of kit depending on if it's still there and would fit and £££. However I suspect that the "auto" component pushes up the complexity and cost. I once had an Austin Maxi (!) with wipers with an infinitely adjustable interval which was extremely practical and didn't cost much as an accessory. Haven't seen these around since then but I can't say that I've searched much.

Considering all the non-standard goodies that are now on your motor and what are in the pipeline I take it that the above has to be interpreted rather flexibly?
