Cars on sorn

Post by Colorado »

Just a quick query. I looked on the how many left website to see how many Colorado cavaliers are left. It came up with 70 active and 44 on sorn. Are cars in scrap yards on sorn until they are officially scrapped or are there 44 Colorado cavaliers just parked up in people's garages waiting for them to be used. Does anyone know how it all works?

When a car is processed at a scrap yard or merchant, they have to send the paperwork off to DVLA notifying them that the vehicle is to be scrapped. That process takes a few days I'd imagine, so SORN most likely means the vehicles are still in their owner's possession and are parked up awaiting their future.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure how it worked.
