Hello,
Apologies if this breaks any rules but looking for advice. My dad had an old Astra Mk3 - 1994 that he used and I kept it for my Mum after he passed away. She could get in and out of it okay.
Well the car has failed its MOT requiring work on the bonded suspension units both sides, corrosion near suspension mountings and stuff. So it is beyond my abilities both financially and mechanically.
I could scrap it but it was a great car - body work is good, everything works and has a new battery and good tyres. It has only done less that 90K miles.
I could call the scrappy but wondered if there was any chance someone might want it for a project. I would give it away to a good home if someone would renovate it perhaps.
I am not a member of the Astra owners club but I am sure there is a lot of common connections.
The car is claret in colour, automatic, 1600 but the higher spec with electric windows and stuff.
All advice that would help to preserve and maybe keep it going are appreciated.
