Looks to me like some sort of tool case as it's hardened plastic. Guessing some sort of sander or drill, or cutting tool?

They are similar but the handles and the badges are different.

You got the digital variant, I got the analogue one :D

It's starts with a "T". ;)

P.S. If you need the operators manual, I got a pdf.

That's an easy one -
But I won't spoil your fun...

I have a very cheap modern Chinese version... But mine is not relevant on here.

Is it one of Humbuckers 3 units.?
I have wanted one of these for years, but unless you meet lots of likewise people you will not need to use it very often.

Sadly the price of these even second hand is still too expensive for me.

Dan has 3?!

No I got this one from eBay, pretty reasonable price too.

Do I get a pint for guessing that it's a diagnostic module?

You know what Dan is like...
One of anything is never enough!!

It may just be two...
I remember him gloating a few years ago.
He has at least one of the later versions too.

Ah but which one.?

That is a module in the image, but that is just part of the bigger picture.

Feel free to get a pint of water from the tap. :P

By the way James,

When you come to use it, take a fresh brew and a packed lunch with you.

These official devices are notoriously slow.

Tech2? What do I win?

Well, close enough.

It's a GM Tech 1 diagnostic scanner. One of the very early Vauxhall ones by the looks of it.

It came with a nice selection of cartages too. I think the only one I'll need to find is a 1995 one for the V6.

It's a bit tatty and rough around the edges and I would have liked a later Tech 1a, but this was dirt cheep on eBay and I couldn't refuse.

You'll have us all queuing up at your door for diagnostics!

That's one of the reasons why I got it.
I'm going to be taking this to all our future club meets, so hopefully everyone can benefit from it.

Oops I meant tech1, can you see long term and short term fuel trims?
