It is only one day for those of you that fill the shopping trolly as if to prepare for stocking up the nuclear bunker in readiness for the end of the world.
Ha ha.
I am a bit of a hum bug, as I find it all too Americanised and commercialised.
I prefer a period of peace and respect with good friends and family as we say goodbye to 2018.
But on a more basic level, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our friends and fellow members a Happy Christmas (if you celebrate), Seasons Greetings (if you don't) ... and Happy Holidays if that is your thing.
And best wishes for good health, great wealth and lots of happiness in 2019.
I hope Santa brings you what you want, when he digs into his sack for you.
And on a sensible note, keep safe this Christmas and New Year. I am sure you will all have the sense not to drink and drive, but it is always worth a gentle nudge of common sense at this time of celebration and reflection.
And also because there are plenty of numpties out there on the roads that don't have the brains they were born with.
