I had just picked-up yet another part from Argos when a car parked near me as I was about to leave.

I had to grab a pic (admittedly not my best effort! )

The driver was around 50. I waited a few minutes but he hadn't come back so i left.
I wish I'd waited now, I really wanted ask him why.

Maybe he isn't used to having alloys, so did it out of habit.

I only came up with he'd seen them on other cars and thought ' I better do that as well'

Are the alloys?

As many cars now come with alloy look wheel trims covering 5 spoke steel wheels

These are so called "design wheels". Steel wheels with spokes where you can fit covers which looks like alloy wheels.
Also available on different Vauxhall/Opel models.

Isn't that valve core i see on the wheel and if so are these not alloys.
