Whilst nothing mind blowing has happened on my dashcam (thankfully) I wonder if it's time for a dedicated post?

This new-fangled moving picture thing seems to be all the rage after all

I've been looking at a few video hosts, with a view to posting on the forum. With that in mind, first-off I'm starting with Vimeo ( free version )

As an aside, you know how your mind tries to rationalise number plates to something recognizable?
Probably just me but his number plate, EJ10YYT, made me think of Eejit, a Scottish colloquialism for an idiot

..You'd think it would be easy to link or embed a pretty thumbnail that just took you to the player.
It's not!
I looked all over the interweb and tried various solutions

I started with vimeo and didn't get anywhere near. I think I need the plus paid for version to do that.
I may trial that later but I'd rather not pay if all I'm trying to achieve is a video thumbnail link

Youtube was next because I'd spotted the forum 'insert youtube 'button, never noticed it before.
That didn't really work either. It took a lot of fiddling to get the above result - default playback at a miserable 360p plus a link at 720p auto, despite clips being 1080p.

I've decided to just opt for the links, it adds to the mystery and is far simpler!

My winner so far is vimeo.
No intrusive 'skip ad in **s...' adverts for a start, even in the basic free version!

Both players default to 720p, Vimeo quality seems better.
For best results choose 1080p to view.
