On one of my lap tops / back-up cd's,
I have topics from each of the three era's.

Showing the different banners.

1 - The basic blue and grey CavMk3OC

2 - The later black and red CavMk3OC

3 - The current red and grey VauxhallCavalier.com

Just for info - the longest serving current Member is EnvoyCDX who joined on the 23 September 2007.

Founder members - Gaz, Squig, sri-girl and FoxyCav have all long since left... 6+ years ago.

So this is the very first thread...
I think...

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2&p=11#p11

On the first page they were discussing the banner.

Even weirder is that they mention "the original forum" (before CavMk3OC?)

Something I need to ask EnvoyCDX about, I think.

I remember MigWeb, CavWeb, Cavalier Crazy....

As the second longest registered member here, I'll get in on some of that. Wish I had a pint to down to celebrate it properly though!

We will have to save it for the 15th Anniversary...
Not too long now :p

Could always tag it on to the VauxFest meet in 2022.
3 weeks before the actual anniversary.

Do you know anything about the "original" forum before CavMk3OC, James?

wayback machine shows that the only relevant sites to pre-date cavmk3oc are cavweb and vxon.

VxON is still going strong, but it is a diluted forum owned by an American company.

I still visit to answer Cavalier mk2, mk3 and Vectra-C questions.

Sadly none of the original admin members have visited for years, so no way to find out what was meant by "Original Forum".

As for MigWeb... I am still a member, but it is mega years since I visited, and I can no longer remember my sign in details.

I'm not completely sure but I think Mk3CavOC was set up by FoxyCav as an off-shoot from VXON.
I think that the reference to an original forum before CavMk3OC was VXON.

I know FoxyCav and Gaz were "together" back then, so I know that they set up the forum together.
Dan (Squig) doing the graphical layout / format etc.

Dan (Humbucker) revamped the original CavMk3OC banner in 2009.

And it was from Gaz that our Mr Humbucker acquired the CavMk30C forum and then immediately transitioned it to Vauxhallcavalier.com in the summer of 2015.
Blimey!! Is it 4 years already.??

We know that bit because James, Envoy CDX, PlanetC and I had the lengthy task of reallocating all the threads into new categories and sub folders.

So if any of the electrical threads went awry, then that was my fault. Tee hee.
