IP addresses being black-listed

Post by Robsey »

Hi All,

I am investigating an issue that some members are having when posting.

If you get a message saying that your IP address has been Black Listed by Spamhaus, please do not panic.

This IS affecting me too but,
Only on this forum,
Only when posting,
And only when posting on my mobile phone network.

Switching over to wifi or using a different PC etc, will change the IP address, hopefully to one that has not been affected.

I am hoping that our illustrious leader Humbucker will know how to resolve the issue.

Please let me know if you are also affected.

Again, as a temporary solution switch to a different connection if you can.

People affected so far are: -

I don't know if it's related or not, but for a long time now I've noticed that this website is no longer securely encrypted, it always used to be. So nobody should enter any personal information which they don't want to give out to anyone.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

I must admit that I had not noticed,

I am very cynical about online security and hacking, so do not provide any irrelevant information anywhere. Definitely not on an open forum.

Being an NHS employee, I have it drummed into me about data protection, caldecott guidelines, safe havens, need to know and so on...

It all sounds like propaganda, but there are weirdos and nut jobs out there.

I also noticed that "guests" can look at all the topics. I thought that a lot of the How 2's and "useful topics" were not meant to be visible to unregistered visitors to the forum.

I haven't heard of any more issues, and mine now appears to have been resolved.
