Back in th'old days of my Tom Tom.

Post by Robsey »

Because I am an old fool, I thought that I would revisit my earlier Cavalier days.

And I got to thinking about all the miles that I used to travel up and down the M56 'Cheshire Corridor'.

Back then I had yet to faff with fancy pants gizmos on the car.

And - CavMk3OC.com did not yet exist!!
(2005 to 2007 ish)

After getting confused a few times looking for houses with names and no addresses in Cheshire - I pestered my boss for a Tom Tom One (version 3).

Try finding an old farm house / cottage called "Crook of the Dee" on a country lane eight miles long.

Using a Philips map book or an AtoZ, remember those? was no longer cutting it.

Being more clever back then, I was able to pimp my TomTom, replacing the standard blue arrow with a blue Cavalier mk3.
My Cavalier mk3 !! - with a tow bar, but no boot panel.

Wherever I wanted to drive, the blue Cavalier was happy to show me the way. :cool

Here is the Tom Tom today. Unfortunately the screen is now losing pixels, but it is still a nice memory all the same.

Those black bushes to the right are dead pixels.

I do miss the simplicity of the old days sometimes.

Maybe, I should do a post restoration version. :P

Update -
Here you go, with SRi tail pipe, 3rd brake light and boot reflector panel.
