Highest temperature seen on your DiD

Post by iangsi »

Whilst driving home from work / stuck in traffic yesterday I noticed the temperature reading on my DiD was showing 44 degrees C the only thing that may affect it was the engine cooling fan was running at the time. When driving after it came down to 39.

The highest temperature that I ever saw was 43°C - but that was when my sender was on its way out.

The lowest is -42°C on the Vectra-C hidden display screens. That is the default on an open circuit.
But all info displays would show F in this situation.

Up in the rainy city yesterday, my gauge only got up to 31°C.

I think my V6 got to 38 degrees in the big heatwave a couple of years ago.
That was after a few hours left in the blazing sun.

Generally I find the reading to be quite accurate unless it's left out in the sun.

The highest I got during the heatwave was 15 degrees when I got in the car and 10 after a short run.

Time to dig out my new sender!

Not on my cav but on my Jag I saw 47c parked up at the beach in grayon et l hopital in the south of France last July. Don't think it was actually quite that hot, just the sun shining on it. The black leather interior was to hot to sit on and a couple of my cd cases had melted.

Not sure what the temperature was but in a big heatwave a few years ago we were in France where so many people were dying that there was a huge backlog for the crematoriums.
Anyway, that's when my CD's headlining troubles began!
