exhaust section

Post by Cavalier342 »

Hey all :wave
I got a shiny new exhaust middle exhaust section recently as the one on the Cav is well and truly ronnied shall we say lol.
Anyways, if i can get the car high enough i'll replace it myself. Any general tips that i should know about? Obviously its a matter of nuts and bolts, and i reckon it might be a bit tricky getting it unstuck and everything. Also i have to be careful to not damage the cat. I was thinking too, is it worthwhile spraying some hammerite waxoyl inside the middle box before fitting it? I thought this might help prevent inner rust in the future?

Thanks guys
Andrei :wave

wd40 the bolts everyday the week before you do it, clamps are cheap get a new one. Get a hacksaw.

If you want your exhaust to set alight put waxoil in it, in other words leave it be.

Might be easier to just replace all the bolts though (IMO)
Make sure you have any gaskets you might need too. If the pipe is rotten, the gaskets probably are too.
