Now I'm going to contradict myself here, but this is because IT WAS NOT MY FAULT !!!!!!
Couple of years ago, went to PVS at Pod, my one and only never again time, and was hit up the arse by an inexperianced driver who had passed his test TWO months prior, had paid ONE months insurance .......and I was his SECOND COLLISION !!!!!1
So as I think Internet Insurance Companies are a waste of space, I went straight to my broker and put EVERYTHING in his hands (can't do that on the net can you ???) he went straight away onto a Solicitor and it was persued by them whilst my feet were in the air.
Thinmg is, they sent out an Assessor, back came the offer 350 quid. Forgot , it was a Cavvy Turbo,
Now the car was well twated ended up with twisted rear chassis.
So I refused, next offer suprisingley jumped to 1300 !
I refused that as well. 
Next offer was 1750, that went the same way.... ended up settling on 2300 plus the salvage (car back for those who don't know ) and as I had no where to strip it, plus couldn't be arsed, sold it to someone else in the club for a grand (yes I know I could have nearly doubled it in bits !) , and ended up with 2700 for whiplash ,which I still suffer neve damage from in my lower arms.
Thing is, although it seem like a good deal, IT WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME !
So as it appears to be YOUR fault, you are on dodgy ground.
Personally I'd withdraw my claim, sort it yourself, plus you keep another years no claims bonus as you will lose a couple of years by persuing the claim.
I had an Astra Cabrio knicked a few years ago, and it was cheaper for me to just not bother claiming.Even when the Police found it ,3 months later and told me it was burnt out. I turned up same time as recovery truckl, he said 'this yours mate??'
I said 'Not now it's burnt out, I aint paying for removale, you can keep it !!!'
