Just had some good news.
Just had my contract extended for a further 2 months instead of the 1 month they had originally planned.
Ofcourse, this means another 9 weeks of nights.
But, means I can top up the Cav fund.

Good on You !!!!
The trick now is to spot work that needs doing that will save them more than it would cost to pay for fixing it, and put together a fixed price quote for follow on work.
Every day contracting is spent with an eye on the next contract.

Re: Just had some good news.
Thanks all
I have more than once offered advice and solutions on existing problems they do not wish to acknowledge exist - so, not sure what else I can do other than sit back, do my job and watch the fragile structure fall apart whilst having a plan to pick up the peices afterwards without outright saying "I told you so!"

Unfortunatly, the NHS doesn't work like that, they reward a keen eye by piling up the workload to a level that is seldom able to be accomlished in the time frames given.jacko-lah wrote:Good on You !!!!

I'm talking about NOT offering the advice or solutions, until the contract is finished and then Quoting to do a particular fix, with reasonable financial justification in the quote. And sending a copy to Your Direct supervisor and the Trust Manager. (Whoever the top dog is). If you can get a dialogue with the man at the top, he'll be interested in Savings.

Good news on the extension. Are you looking for other work in the mean time?
