derivatives.

Post by droofer »

why did vauxhall bring out the mk3 cavalier in sri models and also in gsi models? i know they didnt do a gte,i take it that the gsi is the range topper, my assumption is that the gsi was ecotec'd whilst the sri was an 8v,was the difference, apart from trim, something like a cam, from the 2.0 gls.
sorry the posts all over the place, but im typing as im thinking. :cheers

Gsi - top preface sports model, IRS suspension some 4wd
Prefacelift sri - 8v some 4wd

Turbo - Top facelift model IRS suspension all 4wd
Facelift sri 8v 16v c20xe and Ecotec x20xev

Gsi and Gte are the same thing dependant on location in the world

There are exceptions but this is generally right

The facelifted models started rolling out late autumn 92 on a K plate. Mine was one of the newest of the facelifts, being first registered in december of that year. You can also see some K plates with the earlier grille, and they were built before autumn.
