Touring cav replica

Post by cavshaun »

A good mate of mine has a cavalier touring car replica. Was vauxhalls own promo car, is an 'F'reg 19000 on the clock, fully stripped out, caged, 2 bucket seats and harnesses, full decals, rear spoiler and a proper front splitter. He's looking to put a 2.0 16v redtop on carbs in either this year or next(got engine and carbs just a matter of putting everything in).

So i thought i'd post a few pics up

It originally had 18" black wheels with centre lock nuts but he couldnt drive it on the road, and decided to swap the wheels with garage he bought it from.
Plus big AP racing brakes on the front. It hasnt been on the road since 2oo4. He's hoping to refresh the bodywork and get the engine fitted, then it'll be show time. He's had loads of offers to put it on stands at shows when it was on the road, but declined.
Tried to get him to have a single tailpipe but he likes the twin.

that looks smart like. would def look better with just a single pipe tho do you have any pics of the front end?
btw really dont think that was a ex vauxhall promo car. if it was F reg why would vauxhall spend money on puttin gsi skirts on plus facelights etc more pics tho...inside the brakes what set-up its runnin what engine etc

It was the car that was took to shows as they didnt take the real cars, as worth to much. He's even got the paper work that came from vauxhall headquarters.
For someone to do this to a cav would cost a fortune, as the proper centre lock wheels cost more than most cavs.Upto 2000 it had done just 800 miles, and the build number is 5.

I know that it shouldnt have the kit on but as a promo vehicle, some cars are not exact models. He's seen a couple of other cavs that are different.

Anyway he's happy and i'd buy it if i came up for sale. :D

Its locked away till better weather. Doesnt see any rain at all. Most of it is standard, but he's just having a big garage built so we can get the new engine in and re-do the brakes and suspension.
As soon as he gets chance to get it out i'll take some more pics of the standard stuff for you. :)
