Went to a few scrappies today!

Post by HAIRIBO »

Well me and my mate decided to have a look around and see what we could get. I spent £20 all in all.

I got a cavalier saloon boot panel (The one with the cage for first aid box etc)

A pair of Vectra chrome interior handles which I've just fitted to my GF's Tigra.

A vectra saloon high level break light, which I've modded ready to fit to the BTCC Cesaro. Nice and sutble, Just like mods should be.

And I also got rear window airial amp and wireing lume from an Omega, Which will go in the Cesaro once I've worked out how to wire it in.

I managed to pay £5 for each bit. And I also decieded to never again go to 2 of the scrap yards and they are a bunch of C**ts

I have never spent £20 at a scrappers..
Nearest I got to that was £16 for a £200 polypropeline bumper, complete boot lining and carpets plus other spares for my 1986 Maestro.

Since then I have never spent more than £5 at a time... although I have had several hundreds of pounds worth of bits over the years, thanks to deep pockets - :thumb

Did you tell him that you only wanted a few parts, not a whole car -

I love scrappies when they are over run with punters, or it is their dinner time..

less likely to stop you on the way in or out.

Otherwise I would have been hung drawn and quartered by now

The vauxhall breakers in Stanley wanted £10 for a saloon parcel shelf. I offered him £5 he said no. It'll end up being crushede with the car in a month or so now. And at the breaking in Bishop Auckland I had two internal vectra door handles and a gaitor from a calibra, and Again I offered him £5 as it was near clsing time.

He said "You are joking! how much would vauxhall charge me for all that? I want £5 at least for each bit. £15 all in all"

I throw them on his desk and said "Narh, I'll leave them" , and walked out.

I know I'm stinging. But the bits I want will only end up being crushed. And I hate it when you ask how much, they always ask what it is and what its off. They should know lol.

Get yourself down to Autosave in bury, even if it means a road trip it will be worth it. There all nice people, got loads of time for you and have pretty much every part you will ever need.

Prices are dirty cheap too!

Oh and don't nick anything as it aint worth it! If your nice to them they will be nice to you.
