Hello guys,
Um, I have a small problem it is trivial though.
My rear brake lights the upper ones that light up when you press the brake pedal doesn't light up unless the car is running.
This isn't normal and they should be on if I press the brake pedal when the car is off still. They work when the car is running only.
Where should I start?
Thanks.

Re: Rear Brake Lights
The brake lights should work with the ignition on.
Regardless of whether the engine is running or not.
Is this what yours is doing.?

Re: Rear Brake Lights
Yes it is doing that. But shouldn't it work while ignition is off? I remember it was working before I have been in an accident.
Re: Rear Brake Lights
Not on the cavalier / vectra-a.
The brake pedal switch is fed by an ignition live voltage.
I have seen Austin / Rover and Japanese cars to have permanent live feed to the brake lights.
But not most 90's Vauxhalls.
