Sorry if this isn't much, but when I removed switches before, i.e. demister and fog switch, to find the live and earth, I got a separate LED, already wired on it's own, then stuck the live wires into the different pin numbers to see when it lit up... If that makes sense. I'm on about the standard LEDs you can buy from Maplin in 4 packs. :thumb

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Heated rear window switch S4

Pin 4 - Grey Green = illumination +ve
Pin 1 - Brown = Illumination -ve (ground wire)

Pin 5 - (colour not stated) = tell-take +ve
Pin 1 - Brown = Tell-tale -ve

(Note the -ve side of both leds are linked within the relay)

Pin 1 = brown = goes straight to ground / chassis.
Pin 2 = black white = feed to latching relay and the mirror demister
Pin 3 = blue/white = alternator / charge circuit controlled live feed to relay.

Hope that helps, as the Haynes manual is quite confusing on Switch S4.

Follow the numbers for the relay pins, NOT the socket pin numbers.

for some reason Haynes / Vauxhall took the P!$$ and numbered the socket pins differently.
