There was someone who had a mild sound system installed in their saloon boot with allow spare wheel on show. Anyone done something similar?

Could you upload your boot pics here so I could have some ideas please :p

I was trying to find a way to do it... So this is a huge help :)
I had thought about converting to a cage underneath like the French hatchbacks have...
Might give something like this a go instead...

I assume the bit on the boot lid is a custom piece..

What I'm thinking of doing in mine, Is using a free air sub. and Have a base board mounted behind the rear seats.
That way you get full use of the boot space, I've already mounted my Amp

Is that a fiberglass rear shelf??
After this thread and reading many others on other sites...
I have decided to redo my install... Lol

I made custom End caps for the amp so the wires are hidden, I used a crunchy nut corn flake packet to make rough shape, then fibreglassed it, The shelf is the standard fibre board, I cut cut a hole in middle for the amp, and retrimmed it.

I did this in my Viceroy in the late 80s before everyone started installing. 2x12" subs firing straight at the seat back, with a little air gap between. There was no bulkhead, just the frame that held the seat foam, which kind of turned into one big sub, lol. It was mad, there was nothing like it locally

are you saying my vectra one wasnt subtle? lol to be fair the mirrored paned just lifted out (was only 1" thick) and I could use a different fabric instead of the camo, might try and adapt it for the cavs boot

Northern, not at all. Just considering having a little base - just to improve sound but at the same time having a working boot.

ah right to be fair it didnt take up that much room (depth of a sub box) but if youre just after a nice addition to a system a lot of the guys on the celica gt4 forums are using the bose wheel well subs that just fit in the spare wheel, out of a mazda 6 iirc, you can get them on ebay for about 50 quid?
