That could be absolutely anything.. Have you tried it since? Did you dead-lock the door or just the usual 45 degree turn? Tried it from other locks?

Checked the fuse? It'll be either that or the relay behind the driver's side kick panel in the corner.

It sometimes helps to pull the fuse, and let the central locking module reset itself.
I tend to pull fuse 17.

But as Andrei says - it could be a multitude of sins.

If none of the doors nor boot locks operate any of the other doors, then chances are that the fuse has blown. Check fuses 12 and 17

The central locking modules themselves do not tend to simply die - they usually play up a bit first.

Some vehicles suffer water ingress through the A pillar due to corrosion - this shows itself as dampness around the ECU behind the driver's side kick panel. The central locking module is bolted to the side wall near to the bonnet release handle.
Check for general damp in this area.

If only the driver's door is not working, then it could be a dislodged micro-switch on the lock barrel, or a broken wire where the wiring goes between the a pillar and the door through the trunking and twist lock connector.

It was the fuse,I took it out,it hadn't blown, left a couple of minutes then put it back and the central locking worked fine.
Thanks guys.
