A bit of an update...
The wiring pin out for the relay is to allow the Halo's to be powered via a fused supply from the battery.
Why you may ask.
Well standard side light bulbs are only 5 watts.
But the Halo's are two sets of four 1.2 watt bulbs.
So 8 x 1.2 which is 10 watts.
In simple terms double the usual current draw of a standard bulb.
What is odd though is that I would have fitted one relay per side. (Two overall) But there is only one relay and only one grey output wire from that relay.
So correct relay wiring is -
Pin 30 is power in from the fused battery supply.
(This is the fat red).
Pin 85 is the ground for the relay itself.
(Usually black wire on aftermarket stuff).
Pin 86 is the control voltage.
This triggers the relay.
Therefore the thin red goes to the +12 volt wire from the original side light connector.
Pin 87 is the output to your device.
The grey wire that links up to the wire to power the halo's.
However just for completeness, I have never had the relay wired into my headlamps with no adverse side effects.
(Approx 6 or 7 years on and off).
