Possible cause: worn out moving contact shoe within trafficator switch.
If you don't use the selective sidelight parking facility then it is possible to swop over the two contact shoes within the trafficator switch.

You will see typical direct current burn marks on contact shoe.

You need a clean table, a very good light, skills similar to that of a watchmaker and lots of patience but it can be done. You will need a small screwdriver to hold things in place during re-assembly; there are windows in the switch body to facilitate this. Typical repair time 3 hours.
Observe how self-cancel mechanism works before starting dis-assembly.
Do not use carbon technochloride switch cleaner - softens plastic.
