Fit fuel computer on carburated engines

Greetngs to all.
I wanted to install a fuel computer on my 1988 vectra gls equipped with the 16sv carburated engine.

Unfortunately, as it turnes out there is no way to get a fuel reading from this ecu.

Does anyone know what kind of signal provides the ecu to the computer for the fuel consumption? Is it pulses, variable voltage, resistor?

Can we use a generic fuel flow meter like this?

The goal is to get at least a basic reading, it does not have to be 100% accurate.

It may be easier to look at a fuel computer from an older model, such as a Mk2 Cavalier or Mk2 Astra.
These use a fuel flow rate meter rather than an injection pulse sensor.

Not very common, but I am sure it would be a whole lot cheaper and easier to fit to your carb engine.

Didn't know these two were equipped with fuel computers.

As it seems i am forced to go with a c20ne install to the old lady! Not that i wanted to do that

Well that will sort the fuel computer issue.
Being an older car, you do not need to bother about the catalyst etc.

Just fit it as a 20NE.
It is a nice engine, with about 115 bhp, but with pretty good fuel economy.
