As you know, I was part way through fitting a Scorpion alarm into the car last year.
Wired so as to utilise the onboard alarm connector.
In late summer, last year, I discovered that a lot of my false alarms were due to broken central locking wires in the rubber tube between the body and the hatch.
Repairing the loom appeared to stop all false alarms.
I postponed the fitting of the Scorpion unit as the Meta unit now appeared to be okay.
That is until yesterday.
Just one false alarm.
The status led flashes so fast, it is hard to work out if it is an open door or an electrical issue being detected.
Today it went off twice.
So tonight I sat in the car and set the alarm.
The first time, it all set as normal after 40 seconds.
After a couple of minutes I kept hearing a relay triggering, once every ten seconds for about a minute... possibly the full closure module (Meta M8).
Oddly though, the alarm did not go off.
I disarmed and re-armed the alarm and it behaved perfectly for several minutes
No relay clicking, and no alarm sounding.
How odd.
It looks like I will either have to rip out the full closure module, or more likely the whole alarm system - once and for all.
The only problem is, we are having a torrential downpour at the moment.
Great !!
I know, any excuse for me to do naff all again.

Well after a few cold dry days, the false alarms have ceased as quick as they started.
I plan on finishing all my outstanding electrical jobs in March (read this as June by the time I pull my finger out), so I will finally get the alarms swapped over and hopefully no more annoying Meta system.
I shouldn't complain, on the whole it has protected the car well for 23 years.

I think it is a damp weather related thing, because I un-set the alarm, but when I looked at the LED, it was still showing the alarm as active.
Took about 3 more presses of the button for the alarm to return to normal.
