Re: Other Remote Central Locking Units

Post by Robsey »

I have been approached by a member about fitting an Astra-G / Zafira-A module in a Corsa-B.

As a starting point, we know that the Corsa-B uses the same central locking module as the Cavalier mk3 / Vectra-A.
(Kiekert module with only the 12 pin connector - X62).

I WAS convinced that the Astra-G and Vectra-B shared a lot of components... but I was wrong.

The Astra and Zafira use the Robert Bosch control unit.
And in typical Vauxhall Opel style some pins are the same... and some are different.

On top of this - there are versions with and without anti-theft warning.

I have never worked on the Bosch unit, but here is the pin-out.

28 pin connector (X61).

1 - red/blue - driver's lock switch pin 2
2 - red/white - driver's lock switch pin 8
4 - black - ignition live from fuse ***
5 - brown/red - power sounder "-" ***
7 - green/brown - ultrasonic sensor *** (inside interior light)
8 - blue/red - ultrasonic sensor ***
10 - black/blue - driver's lock switch pin 4 (deadlock)
11 - red/white - soft top ***
12 - red/blue - ultrasonic sensor ***
14 - black/white - multitimer
15 - grey/white - door contact switch
16 - grey - door contact switch
17 - brown/black - boot / trunk light switch
18 - red - battery live from fuse.
19 - brown/red - power sounder "+" and battery live.***
20 - brown/green - bonnet / hood switch
21 - brown/white - diagnostic link
23 - brown/violet - immobiliser
24 - red/yellow - window lifters & sunroof
25 - brown/violet - tell tale LED inside hazard switch.
26 - black - pane break sensor
28 - black - independent heater ***

*** = different from the Kiekert and Megamos units.

Other Remote Central Locking Units

There was an added question about linking to the alarm module - apparently a Dupec unit which I have not heard of.

This is the exact Dupec alarm unit fitted in the Corsa-B

Just to confuse matters further, the conversion for a Corsa-B is made more complicated because the wire functions and colours in the alarm module connector are significantly different to those of the Cavalier / Vectra-A.

Both Cars use the same 12 pin Kiekert central locking unit.
But the Anti-theft alarm modules are vastly different despite using the same yellow 25 pin connector.

The upshot of all this, is that I now have five different alarm systems listed.
Cavalier / Vectra-A - Megamos
Early Vectra-B and Omega-B - Kiekert
Later Vectra-B and Omega-B - Megamos
Astra-G and Zafira-A - Bosch
Corsa-B - Dupec.(?)

I have no opportunity to test an Astra-G alarm against the Cavalier, but hopeful the chap with the Corsa will report back in due course.

As a thought - would there be any mileage in me posting up a thread on the Bosch alarm module?

This is the Corsa to Astra conversion by the way...
Cavalier alarm socket would be wired differently.

Corsa B

12 Pin Plug Central Locking (no changes in this plug)
1 - N/C no connection
2 - (brown/red) door lock switch signal (normally closed)
3 - (black) ignition live from fuse.
4 - n/c
5 - n/c - window lifters ?? (Astra 24??)
6 - (brown/white) Unlock switch signal
7 - (black/yellow) motor voltage (+/-)
8 - (black/red) motor voltage (-/+)
9 - (red) battery voltage from fuse.
10 - n/c
11 - (brown) ground / chassis
12 - (red/yellow) deadlock.

25 Pin Anti-theft Alarm.
1 - n/c
2 - (red/blue) anti theft tell tale led on dash.(Astra 25)
3 - (brown/white) tailgate switch (astra17)
4 - (grey/white and grey) door contacts (Astra pins 15 and 16)
5 - (red/blue) ultrasonic sensor in interior light

6? - (black/red)? window lifters (astra 24)
7 - (red/white) ultrasonic sensor in interior light (Astra 8)
8 - (black) ignition live (astra 4) - no fuse.
9 - (black/red) door unlock signal ?
10 - (brown/red) sounder negative (astra 5)
11 - n/c
12 - (black/green) turn lamp right (astra 25 via omega relay)
13 - (brown) ground (not required)
14 - (brown/green) bonnet switch (astra 20)
15 - (brown/white) boot lock motor
16 - (black) pane break (astra 26)
17 - (black) pane break combo (astra 26)
18 - (black/blue) deadlock (astra 10)
19 - n/c
20 - (brown/white) diagnostic (astra 21)
21 - n/c
22 - n/c
23 - n/c
24 - (black/white) turn lamp left (astra 25 via omega relay)
25 - (red) Battery Live and sounder positive (astra 18 and 19)- Fused supply.

After looking at EPC, Alpha Code CL is only a remote central locking module, similar to the Vectra-B Kiekert unit. The heading says "Door Locking Control Unit - Except Anti-Theft Warning System".

Although I can find no listing of 24 410 018,
I can see 9 195 060 and 9 199 889.
