Yeah checked fuse thinkin of testing fan for poer or wondered if they blow resisters,or bad for faulty switches?
Re: heater fan
probably the resistor pack on the motor, try jiggling the white block on the motor (under the plastic cover below the wipers)

SNAP! same thing has happened to mine!
Theres a quick tip in this section which made the journey from work a little more bearable.
I spoke to a motor factor store today and he said best bet for the resistor pack would be vauxhall or scrappy, but i was wondering if a newer part could be fitted? maybe off a vectra B or even an astra???

Yep you can fit the blower motor out of a mk3 astra.
I have one in mine, and it had a really nice resistor with it, no old crappy cav one.
Motors are exactly the same. Well should i say mine was, although i'm pretty sure there are 2 differant motors on the cavs. Mine is an L reg with aircon and the mk3 astra one was spot on.

Re: heater fan
Got one from a MK3 cav here if anyones needing one.
Might look into this resister pack lark though, see if replacements can be knocked up with off the shelf components from RS or Farnell
