Cant get much cheaper than a paper clip to join 2 wires together on the plug and the ecu will flash any stored codes. The internet has loads of stuff on using a paper clip to flash fault codes. Ive done it in the past on my Cav and it works.

dunno if this would do the trick, says suitable for cars from 86 onwards with the following management

Fuel injection from 1986 onwards system type Motronic M, Motronic ML,

Ecotronic, Multec, Multec M, Multec S, Simtec 5,6.

your car runs on motronic ecu so should work

chris that one is exactly the same as using a paperclip it just flashes the led on the unit and makes you look them up in a book.
