new alternator not charging battery

just fitted recon alternator as thought old 1 was dead but still not charging battery and light is on! would there be a break in the live or earth lead? its not battery as put new 1 on and no change, car is a 1992 SRI 8V.

if the light is on its not charging, id check the charge wire is attached to the right terminal

Make sure the alternator is actually kicking out from the terminal on the back,

Despite being recon, it could still be faulty.

Got to be a bad earth.
