ABS light fails to illuminate

Post by LETSTICK »

Had my M.O.T today

My cavalier failed its M.O.T today ....

on the ABS light failing to illuminate. ( 1994 cavalier xe saloon )

This was a shock as it has never been visable since i had it , never had ABS before , so didnt know there was a light , thought it was the warning light for the brake light bulb :cry

it went straight through last year .... weird

. without looking at the car until the weekend

would it just be a case of changing the bulb , or is there a way to check if the light is working properly ??

any help welcome ,

thanks :cheers

Im pretty sure its just a case of the light being there, rather than the abs actually working or not, just change the bulb.

Maybe previous owner had a fault with ABS and couldn't get the light to go out., so removed the bulb to make it easier to sell.

Probably just being cynical, but this was common practice at one time.

Hope your ECU (EML) and Airbag lights come on and then go off approx 4 seconds after the engine starts aswell.
