Good point actually Robsey, I don't think I've seen this listed anywhere else on the site. So good job there, nice and simply laid out.

Fuse Box and Module / Relay Locations.

For most of us long in the tooth owners, this is obvious,
but if you are quite new to Cavaliers, or have never ventured into the hidden depths of the car's electrics before, it may not seem so obvious.
And besides Vauxhall / Opel / GM do not make any effort to keep things simple or even sensible, with every model year and trim level virtually having their own individual configuration / layout.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE FUSE BOX
The Main Dash Panel Fuse Box is located just below the steering column, behind a pull down flap - This is the one shown in the owners manual and in Haynes.

Image

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ENGINE BAY FUSE BOX / RELAY FRAME.

The "Other" Main Fuse Box is in the Engine Bay mounted between the Bulkhead and the Left Suspension Tower. (MOST Cavaliers do NOT have this fuse box).
It is usually fitted to cars with Air-Conditioning, A V6 Engine or Later Anti-Theft Warning System.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DASH RELAY FRAME.

The LEAST known and best hidden Relay panel is the "Relay Frame Behind The Fuse Box".
Access to this is a bit fiddly, as it usually means tipping the bottom edge of the fuse box forward, or removing the whole thing to one side to get to the relay frame.
- There are four self-tapping screws holding the surround / flap assembly of the fuse box, and a wide grey release tab at the bottom. Remove the surround. Un-clip the grey release tab and slide the upper mounts out of their slots to completely remove the fuse box from the dash.
Note that there are dozens of wires attached to the fuse box, and anything RED is permanently live, so disconnect the car battery if you plan to disturb or work on the fuse box.

To make this more of a challenge, there is no clear view of the Relay Frame with the dash still in place -
(I do not recommend removing the dash just for "S#!Ts and Giggles" - once you disturb anything, it usually ends up rattling or squeaking forever after ).

I personally have only touched the relay frame once, to look at the heated rear window relay when looking at retro-fitting electric heated door mirrors to the car.

And this is the best photo that I could get from underneath. Looking up from the footwell past the brake pedal.

Most other modules are well known and written about with the various How 2's and Topics of this forum.
