no heater fan and no sound from cd player
happy new year to everyone i have just fixed the cavalier td a went to swap my insurance over last night (online) and because the glow plug relay is not turning the plugs on so to get it going last night i used the good old method of using one jump lead direct to the plugs and hey presto but since i have done that it has developed this problem and one thing i hate is a cold car i have checked fuses and none are blew any help would be really appreciated.

Popped a fuse or two maybe - even if you say they arent blown, change them anyhow..
Blower motor is a 30 amp fuse (green usually).
Interior light probably doesnt work either I'd imagine.
Either that, or you've burnt some wiring or knackered an earth?

As a pointer for the fuses...
Fuses to check - based on my car (Facelift Petrol LS)
Fuse 4 = 30A (Green Fuse) - Heater Blower fan only
Fuse 8 = 15A (Blue Fuse) - interior lighting, hazards, clock, radio, DID, fuel computer
Fuse 20 = 10A (Red Fuse) - Radio only
I understand that there is a cluster of brown earth wires up near to where the wiper motor is mounted... this is often over-looked when looking for earth tags.
There is also a cluster of earth wires (Brown) up behind the instrument panel, slightly to the left, secured via a self tapping screw.
Most other earth wires are in easy view within the engine bay.
