When I put the sidelights on my V6 the rears seem to show the brake lights. So at night if I press the brake down there is no additional light/no change in light intensity. Furthermore the rear fogs don't work. A bulb went and after a routine change these electrical gremlins appeared. Any ideas off the top of your head? I've tried swapping bulbs etc. I have some spare bulb holders for the back so I might swap them over to see if it makes any difference but thought I'd mention it in case one of you said 'oh that happened to me, it was XYZ'
cheers

Re: Rear light gremlins
Usually this is due to the wrong bulb being fitted. I normally find a single filament bulb wedged in where there should be a twin.... but hang on, does the Cav not have a twin filament at the bottom for sides and fogs and a single at the top for the brake light?? In which case I suggest they are separate issues and a check of the brake light switch is in order aswell.

Also sometimes find there's a twin filament bulb but wedged in so that it bridges the side and fog circuits.

Yeah I'm sure I replaced the dodgy bulb with a like for like item but the problems occurred after the switchover so I'll check what's in there against the ones in the Turbo to be sure. Probably as simple as a wrong bulb like you say.

I'm sure that the cavalier fog/tail bulb has offset pins - ued to be a common thing with people fitting the wrong bulb!!!

Yes, you are right, it's not a standard 380 bulb, though they can be forced in it's easy to end up bridging the contacts.cavboy180 wrote:I'm sure that the cavalier fog/tail bulb has offset pins - ued to be a common thing with people fitting the wrong bulb!!!
