Indeed, a tidy neat upgrade. I like it. No, no cavaliers ever came with kick panel installations before. :thumb

Can see it being handy if you drop something in the footwell and the interior light doesn't pick it up...

No i wouldnt have thought these were fitted to cavs as the top spec models had kerb lights in the door as well.

I've seen this done on a few cars and the common problem is lack of heatshield to stop the bulb melting through the panel, more of a problem if you eat into your centre console to house the bulbs there.

It's a mod, and if done right it can be a tidy one, if your going to do it, I'd consider LED's and LED festoons (or whatever they are called) rather then 5/10w bulbs.

Ive done this trick to mine, but on the centre console / tunnel.

Heat can be a problem and LED are definatley the way to go.

I used computer light tubes in my old one came with two tubes switch and just about every colour you could think of and uv light. Just stuck them on with the sticky pads they came with. They where water proof so could use them on out side of car if you really wanted boot was a good place too as they were a lot better than normal bulbs. And In footwells just hid them up behind where the panels from dash finished made a nice ambient light. And the best bit there where 97p per kit. They came from ebuyer some years ago. Will have to have a look and see if they still sell them.

I had some stupid LED lights on the front of mine some time ago, little rectangular efforts, row of 8 LED's made by RING.

Took them off and wired into boot, one either side as I was sick of the farty little light in there.
