After recently spending a couple of hours removing tar spots from the Diplomat's refurbished alloys, I decided it was time I got something to protect them from the elements.

Always been a big fan of AutoGlym so they were my first port of call.

Pretty happy with the results. Seems to be keeping the dirt off pretty well.

Hmm - I will look into using this when I've had my fan blades refurbed and fitted.
Got loads of Auto Glym sets in my shed.

Looking good there, James. Consider the merits of wheel wax. Not only will it make your wheels look amazing, but it will repel any brake dust, road fallout etc. and create a firm barrier on the face of the wheel. As part of a programme of wheel protection, these come highly recommended:

Assuming you already used AD 'Just The Tonic' glue and tar remover?

Autobrite Direct 'Purple Rain' iron and contamination remover for wheels:



Autobrite Direct 'Britegel' non-acidic wheel cleaner:



Bouncer's 'Looking Sweet' wheel wax:



AutoGlym instant tyre dressing:

I use the wheel dressing applied to a brush then brush it on the tyre wiping off any excess - brilliant.
I have always used mcquiers on the wheel (although other products are available!)

That's my preferred method too. It makes the bottle go a lot further and avoids overspray on bodywork.
